The Bandhavgarh National Park is enveloped by sal trees. When one moves to the higher altitude, other vegetation mainly the mixed vegetation are seen which include saji, dhobin, saja etc. The northern region is dominated by grasslands and bamboo forests,out of which most of them are young bamboo. One also encounters rocky ridges and perennial streams. The southern part of the park is mainly dominated by low hills dotted with forest.The central part of the park comprises of 106 sq.kilometers and the splendid fort. There are 32 hills and marshy stretches divided into water bodies and grasslands.
