Bandhavgarh boasts of being the natural habitat of the highest density of Bengal tigers known in the world. The wildlife reserve is famous for some popular individual tigers. One such name is Charger was first healthy male and the first inhabitant of Bandhavgarh since 1990s. There is another beauty named Sita famous for ruling the cover of National Geography for several years. She was the most popular face of Bandhavgarh, photographed several years.She posed for several International magazine for wildlife. These two popular names created the base of the Family Tree of Bandhavgarh National Park. Most of the tigers that are the inhabitants of Bandhavgarh are the descendants of Sita and Charger.
Mohini is another popular female resident of the Park. She became the mother of three healthy cubs named B1, B2 and B3. She had to go through a painful experience from her cubs in 2003 because of vehicle accident and an incident in which tourists separated her from the cubs. She later died of her painful wounds from the vehicle accident.
Charger breathed his last in 2002. Between 2003 and 2006 his family went through painful incident. B1 was electrocuted and B3 was killed by poachers. Sita was killed by poachers. Mohini passed away because of serious wounds inflicted on her body. B2, completely grown up survived and emerged as the dominant male in the forest between 2004 and 2007.He fathered three cubs of his own. One of them was a male, first spotted in 2008. Today he is the pride of Bandhavgarh. But the rules of animal world is different.Survival of the fittest is the rule it follows. Today Bandhavgarh National Park is waiting for the historic moment when B2’s son would challenge the dominance of the son of B2’s daughter.
