Taj Mahotsav Agra

A colourful event which stretches for ten days, the Taj Mahotsav is held at Shilpgram near Tajmahal. The vibrant 10-days carnival presents the finest elements of Indian Crafts and Indian culture. The event which takes place on 18th February is a beautiful way of unveiling the richness of the culture of India and Uttar Pradesh. The festival is characterized by folk music, shayari, classical dance performance, food festival, camel and elephant rides.

It is a huge platform that invites the legendary artisans to showcase their talent. Marble occupies an important place in this festival.For the epicureans, the array of yummy delicacies straight from Mughal kitchen ensure 'gastronomical nirvana'. The drum beaters, folk artists, bejewelled camels and elephants create a colourful scenario, a vivid reminder of the glorious past of the Mughals. Throughout the festival, the soul-stirring performances of the folk artists especiall the dances of Dundhelkhand, Lavani, Nautanki create a different cultural milieu altogether.
